PBN is an engineering plastic from the polyester family. It has excellent wear resistance, sliding characteristics, hydrolysis resistance, and chemical resistance. Compared to PTFE, it has superior mechanical strength, a lower coefficient of linear thermal expansion, and lower specific gravity. Combined with its superior wear resistance compared to PPS, these advantages make it a suitable replacement for PTFE and PPS.
